PHCS Physical Therapy
Physical therapy is treatment needed when movement becomes reduced and when there is difficulty in completing your usual activities of daily living (ADL’s) . Physical therapy helps improve your mobility and physical function and may provide pain reduction. Physical Therapy may help with walking, going up stairs, getting in and out of a car or getting in and out of bed. Physical therapy can help with increasing your strength and balance and help prevent falls. Your physical therapist will complete an evaluation with you and talk with you about your symptoms and your daily activities.
Together with your therapist, He or she will then develop treatment plan. The goals of which will help your mobility, strength, endurance, coordination, and/or balance. The plan that you and your physical therapist develop may include manual therapy, exercise, education, weight lifting, walking and techniques such as heat, cold, water, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation. Your therapist may recommend that you take a pain medication before the therapy session.
